Intramedullary Claw (IMC)
The H.I.S. Intramedullary Claw was specifically developed to address common challenges in the treatment of subcapital humeral fractures. While percutaneous drilling and intramedullary wire techniques are less invasive and reduce the risk of avascular necrosis compared to open methods, they often lead to wire migration and secondary fragment displacement due to osteoporotic bone. Additionally, healing complications are frequently observed.
The IMC combines the benefits of minimally invasive osteosynthesis, intramedullary positioning, and secure fixation with a cancellous screw. This innovative design minimises the risk of complications and promotes reliable bone healing.
